I've been lucky when it comes to my breast implant journey. After my appointment, the surgeon's office submitted the surgery request to my insurance. They said it could take as long as 8 weeks to be approved. It was approved within one day.
I kept checking in my insurance portal, and sure enough. It was approved within one day. This doesn't normally happen. My theory was that because I hadn't met my deductible or max-out-of-pocket, that's why it was approved so quickly.
Either way, I was scheduled for January 21, 2025, thanks to a cancellation. So, I got the time off and prepped.
My best friend picked me up after my surgery (which took around 1.5 hours) and stayed with me for the first 24 hours. Turns out I got 240 CC on both sides, as that's what the surgeon felt fit better for my body. I'm not complaining.
Recovery time is at least one week off work, and then another 5 weeks of weight (10 lbs) restrictions. Plus, no lifting your arms above your shoulders or showering for the first week. 1
