I may be running into a hurdle, but hopefully not a wall.
I was researching online to see if there were any petitions or movements to have X an option on documents (instead of just M/F) in Japan and came across a Reddit thread that mentioned getting a visa while having X on a passport may be tricky.
I messaged my rep with GoGoNihon (the service I'm using) to see what he knows, and here is his response. (See photo).
While I'm OK with using “F” on documents, I just hope that being non-binary won't hinder me from renewing my language student visa. 1 Now, if I waited to attend design college in April of next year, then I'd probably be fine, as that's a different visa.
However, given the current state of the US, I'd rather not have to wait that long.
